A significant percentage of women with Borderline Personality who become mothers, largely without any treatment while raising a child or children, will fail and wound a child or children. This is often the inter-generational nature of BPD - not genetics. As many an adult-child knows, many (not all) mothers with BPD are not able to "love" their children in healthy ways that means putting the child's needs ahead of their own.
