The antibiotic carbadox, which is added to pig feed to prevent infections and fatten up the animals, is banned in the European Union, Canada, China, Brazil, Australia and the U.K. due to cancer concerns. Now, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is finally considering withdrawing approval of the drug.
