LOY KRAYTHONG DAY at NONG PRAJAK PARK in UDON THANI, ISSAN, THAILAND - Night Markets and Respect 🙏

Well, what a magic time in the Thai calendar, is the annual Loy Kraythong Day!

And here in Udon Thani, it seems that almost all of the city (including locals and farangs), takes in the festival, with a full embrace.

As I see it, the epicenter of the action on this special day, is the iconic Nong Prajak Public Park and this year (2023), I was fortunate enough to find my current abode to be right on the edge of the lake, so no excuses not to check it out.

And so the story goes, that indeed I did and spent a solid couple of hours walking around the park, doing this most enjoyable vlog.

When I travel, I do like to attempt to immerse myself in the local culture and so yes, I also purchased, light up and then launched my own kraythong.

As I did, I took a moment to be grateful for the wonderful life I am currently living here in the Land of Smiles, Thailand.
