Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to growing orchids, no matter the media, not matter the set up, unless you have the ideal climate for the orchids you are growing and have them dotted around in the landscape of the great outdoors. Growing orchids in pots, no matter the choice of media is a delicate walk on a fine line that can determine successful orchid culture or results in a huge learning curve. Semi hydro as a set up for orchids, can be a massive increase to the healthy growth of orchids, but there are risks in learning which orchids do best right out of the gate, and which orchids need a little tweaking in the set up and the temperature tolerance needed because of evaporative cooling.
