In this video, we invite you to take a stroll down Kote Abkhazi Street from Liberty Square to Vakhtang Gorgasali Square. This street is one of the main tourist routes in Old Tbilisi and, in ancient times, was part of the path from Tbilisi to Mtskheta. Our walk begins where the Kodjori Gates once stood, where the Kodjori and Digomi roads converged. It was a bustling hub of trade, with numerous market stalls offering a wide variety of goods.

Until the mid-19th century, the street was called Shuabazari, or Central Bazaar, and from 1876, it was known as the Armenian Bazaar. During the Soviet era, it was called Promkooperatsia and named after the Soviet military leader Konstantin Leselidze. In 2006, it was given its modern name in honor of one of the leaders of Georgia's national liberation movement (1921-1923), General Kote Abkhazi.

During our walk, we'll see landmarks such as the Norashen Church, Jvari’s Mama’s Church, and the Great Synagogue building.
