Thai pass test n go to reopen earlier than expected if officials approve the proposal during tomorrow's meeting said spokesperson.
CCSA today meeting summary.
19 January 2022
1) CCSA will review the existing measures for entering Thailand for international travelers. Some measures will be loosened, while others will be continued. The decision will be taken on 20 January 2022 at the CCSA General Meeting, chaired by the PM
2) CCSA has discussed the world and regional situation of the coronavirus, especially the sharp increase in infections of the disease due to the Omicron variant. In particular, in Europe, COVID-19 coupled with the regular flu season has led to what is called a "so-called twindemic." This continues to be highly concerning. Hospitals in Thailand are therefore preparing for various possible scenarios very seriously.
3) During 1-18 January 2022, there were 130,355 foreign travelers entering Thailand. Most of them or 64,927 visitors arrived through the Test and Go, or Quarantine Exemption Plan, whereas 45,895 entered via the Sandbox scheme, and 19,533 with alternative quarantine.
4) Top ten countries of origin during 1-18 January 2022 were Russia, Germany, the US, the UK, France, Sweden, Japan, Australia, Denmark, and the UAE.
5) On 18 January 2022, Thailand administered 481,828 doses of vaccines, making the total accumulated number of vaccinations to more than 110 million doses. 72 percent of the whole population has received the first dose, while 66.3 percent and 14.9 percent of the Thai people have received the second dose and booster dose, respectively.
6) Even though there is no certainty that Covid-19 immunization can stop people from becoming infected with the virus, studies have shown that all types of Covid-19 vaccine can reduce the likelihood of severe illness, hospitalization, and death due to the disease. The booster dose is ssential to increase immunity when that in our body will naturally reduce after the second shot of vaccine and during the transmission of the mutant variant of the virus such as Omicron.
7) The National Vaccine Institute encourages three groups of people to receive booster doses: frontline personnel vaccinated with 3 doses for more than 3 months, those inoculated with 2 doses for more than three months, and risk groups including the elderly, patients with underlying diseases, as well as pregnant women.
8) In addition to getting a booster vaccine, putting on a mask, keeping a physical distance, and frequent hand washing are still needed to prevent the infection and transmission of COVID-19. Those who want to receive the booster dose can still do so at Bangsue Central Vaccination Center for free. They can request the booster via mobile phone providers such as AIS, True, DTAC, and NT.
