How Do Russians Live In Israel? 🇷🇺

The 1990s post-Soviet "Aliyah" (immigration) began in the late 1980s when Mikhail Gorbachev opened the borders of the Soviet Union and allowed Jews to go and live in Israel. We visited Haifa - which also happens to be a city I spent many years in - in order to meet Russians and other immigrants from the Former Soviet Union.
If you are wondering how I came to know the Russian language - it's because having spent so much time in Haifa I developed a love for the Soviet people and their culture, and that persuaded me to learn the language to really understand them better. Since then, I've been fortunate enough to visit several Former Soviet Republics - Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Lithuania. I have documented some of these expeditions on my channel, so be sure to have a look if you'd like to see more Russian-spoken content.
