Adventure Now Season 4 Episode 10 - Calling the shots

Hello and welcome to the 10th episode of the 4th season of Adventure Now!

In this episode we have a look around Mark's second most favourite capital city in the world so far - Reykjavik! We enjoy a tour of the only whisky distillery in Iceland - Eimverk Distillery, courtesy of Brynjark Karlsson. Thank you very much. We enjoyed Floki whisky!

We have a look around the capital early on a Sunday morning. We enjoy some great food, visit the famous concert hall, called Harpa, and having done what we set out to do, on a spur of the moment we decide to depart. We had for Grindavik, a fishing port on the very exposed south coast. We arrive in the dark but manage to find a nice pontoon with power where we moor safely for the next couple of days. A walk around the town and the coast reveals how ferocious the surrounding ocean can be. The harbour street is decorated with spectacular photographs of trawlers approaching the harbour in incredibly stormy conditions and the rocky shore along the path to the lighthouse is littered with wrecked trawlers, torn to pieces by the sea.

After a few days we set out in the afternoon for the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) and sail through the night, enjoying a spectacular sunset, moonlit night sky and a beautiful sun rise. The Westman Islands welcome us with astounding views and spectacular rock formations. We sail into the harbour on the largest island, Heimaey, through a narrow entrance that nearly got closed by a volcanic eruption in 1973.
