Wanted Felon Shot By Houston Cop

Members of Houston Police Department were searching for Jalen Randle who was wanted on three felony warrants.

On April 27. 2022, at approximately 1445 hours, officers observed the suspect to get in the passenger seat of a silver vehicle. The vehicle left the location and followed the silver vehicle. Officers activated lights and sirens in an attempt to get the vehicle to stop. The driver of the vehicle refused and a pursuit ensued. Officers performed a pursuit intervention technique, forcing the vehicle to come to a stop. The suspect exited the passenger side of the vehicle. He then reached backed into the vehicle. An officer gave a verbal command to the suspect to show his hands. The officer fire one shot, striking the suspect in the neck. Officers began to render first aid on the suspect.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspect was holding a bag and a shoe in his hands, which he dropped upon being struck. A gun was found in the bag he was holding.

The person driving the vehicle was arrested and charged in this incident.
