Thailand Pass: Thai Officials to Consider Easing Restrictions (Full Video English Summary)
CCSA meeting summary
7 February 2022:
1) Thailand’s FDA has approved the use of China's Sinovac and Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines for people aged six and up.
2) The number of new COVID cases is down in most regions of the world, including Germany, the US, France, the UK, and India—with the exception of Russia, which is still slowly increasing.
3) The province of Maha Sarakham recently discovered a new cluster with a significant number of high-risk contacts. As a result, the Provincial Communicable Disease Committee has issued a request for Maha Sarakham residents to refrain from sharing a meal with a group of people in any gathering activity.
4) Thailand received a total of 30,218 visitors from 1 January to 6 February 2022. There were 7,617 visitors arriving in Thailand through the Test and Go, or Quarantine Exemption Scheme. There were 18,617 people who entered through the Sandbox system, and 3,987 people entering through quarantine. Covid was found in 1,081 of the total number of tourists, or 3.58 percent.
5) During the period 1–6 February 2022, the majority of international passengers came from these top ten countries of origin: Russia, the UK, Germany, France, the US, Australia, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Singapore, and Sweden.
6) All passengers should ensure that all related documents used for applying for the TP are written in English or are bilingual with English as one of the languages.
7) The approval process for the TP requires two steps. After registration, the SHAplus+ hotel will accept the first step once the payment has been received by the hotel, which may include an RT-PCR test on the first and the fifth days, if applicable. The Department of Disease Control will check the immunization certificate in the second phase, after which the system will automatically email the applicant the Thailand Pass QR code. Because the approval procedure takes 7-14 days, make sure to apply well ahead of the departure date.
8 ) There are currently seven immunization stations outside of hospitals in Bangkok for people aged 18 and above of all nationalities. .
9) According to the MPOH, about 10% to 20% of covid patients in Thailand experience a post-syndrome, known as "Long covid Symptoms." Long Covid exhibits fatigue, muscle discomfort, headaches, and depressive symptoms. These can result from the body's reaction to or the adverse effects of drugs during treatment. The symptoms can be increased by age, obesity, and regular steroid use, etc. The recovery from the symptoms might take around six months to a year. However, these can be relieved by vaccinations.
