Lifelong Military Service: Spartans were expected to devote their lives to military service. The training in the agoge system began in childhood, and even after completing their formal training, Spartans continued to serve in the military until the age of 60. This prolonged military service contributed to the development of a highly disciplined and skilled warrior class.
