From MrTurbodiesel's perspective: The Detroit Diesel/Mercedes-Benz MBE900 series engines have a great variety of engines to choose from whether if it's a small displacemented 4 cylinder or a big 6 cylinder turbocharged diesel motor. The engine displacements vary from (4.3L OM904LA & 4.8L OM924LA Inline 4 Cylinder Turbocharged Diesel) (6.4L OM906LA & 7.2L OM926LA Inline 6 Cylinder Turbocharged Diesel). The only common problem they have is the turbo lagging/not getting enough turbo power from the motor. It's $3,000 for a new turbo and these engines will last you a long time without changing the turbo and installing a new turbo for a long period of time until when the time comes, it needs a new turbo.
