Local police warned residents that a new feature available on the latest iPhone update could intrude on people's privacy, as the feature could potentially share contact information with strangers. This feature, titled "NameDrop," allows iPhone and Apple Watch users to quickly share information with each other and is available to anyone who has downloaded the iOS 17.1 update. However, police departments across the country warned that this feature can lead to users sharing contact information with other people unintentionally.
