Free Willy! Orcas are extremely social and live in groups called pods, which can consist of up to 40 individuals. BUT they are apex predators and have a diverse diet that includes fish, seals, sea birds, and even other whale species. Their hunting techniques are highly sophisticated and often involve cooperative strategies within their pods.

In the wild, male orcas live to an average of 30 years (maximum 50-60 years) and 46 years for females (maximum 80-90 years). They're highly intelligent animals, displaying problem-solving skills, self-awareness, and the ability to learn and adapt to new situations.

Unlike humans, orcas do not need to drink large amounts of water to stay hydrated. They have evolved to obtain some of their required water from the metabolism of their prey and are adapted to process the saltwater they consume.

Observations of captive orcas suggest that they do drink water occasionally, but it's not a regular or essential behavior for their hydration needs.

Their skin is relatively impermeable, which helps prevent water loss through their skin, enabling them to retain moisture within their bodies.
