Manatee protection zones back in effect
Manatee protection zones are now back in effect. With cooler temperatures approaching, FWC is reminding boaters to watch out for manatees seeking warmer water. Manatees can't tolerate cold water, so they migrate to warmer water this time of year. FWC says it might be difficult to see manatees since they swim and rest just below the surface. Boaters wearing polarized sunglasses are more likely to spot them.
