Tortoise in its den

This is a video of a tortoise in its den, hiding from the heat of the daytime sun. The tortoise is watching warily. At night the tortoise forages for food among the desert plants & will even eat insects if it can. A wild tortoise should never be touched. This was filmed July 24, 2023 in east Las Vegas, at the base of Frenchman mountain.
