Female Silver Surfer for MCU’s Fantastic Four | Marvel is Trying to TANK Franchise

The latest casting rumors surround Disney and Marvel’s new MCU movie Fantastic Four says The Menu and The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy will be playing the role of the Silver Surfer as a gender swapped version of the character.

This goes in line with what has been seen in recent years with Disney and Marvel choosing to replace male characters with female version, but usually that takes the form of creating a female version of the character to take on the “mantle” of the character. Changing a male character to a female character is not unusual for Marvel’s MCU, but this is a very recognizable character to be making the change to.
