A BBC Radio Christmas drama

It's Christmas eve in Moscow. A family is all set to go out to see the Bolshoi Ballet dance THE NUTCRACKER.

All except Natalia. She's in trouble for cutting characters out of her picture books, and her punishment is that she must stay behind at home with Grandpa Igor.

But Natalia finds that the story of the Nutcracker CAN be brought to life at home...with a little help from some abandoned characters and her own imagination...
