You need the Bible, not Bible studies

You need to direct personal interaction with God, reading the word for yourself, on your own. Without anyone to tell you what it means except God. Only God can be your Shepherd and Lord. The best any human being can be is a watchman. if you’re only listening to Bible studies or attending Bible studies, but you’re not personally reading your own Bible, it may be that you are hiding from God, hiding from God’s word, and avoiding that direct contact with scripture. You might be able to listen to the soothing words of Si Robertson, but not the words of Jesus Christ in the book of acts or Luke, or Matthew or John. There might be something going wrong in your life that’s causing you to hide from God and to hide from his word. So you need to listen to the Bible and read it for yourself. A Bible study study is not enough and if your substituting a Bible study for the scriptures, for the Bible, then a Bible study might actually be bad for you, because you really need to be Reading the Bible and it’s only letting you pretend that everything is fine.
