Chastening by Pruning, Painful but Fruitful

Are you a believer. The Word of God says that He will punish and correct His children. But if you are not a child of God, He will not correct you. He won't intervene to chastise you. Why is this? Does this maybe explain why evil is so rampant in the world today and God doesn't seem to be doing anything right now to stop it.
There is a difference between chastisement and the trials you may have to go through in life. They are both painful, but chastening and being rebuked by God will help you grow in your faith, be more fruitful in your life, and change in such a way that you are more and more like Jesus.
What you might have thought was punishment, may in fact be what you needed in order to live a life more pleasing to God.Show more
