This video will take you back in time to 1941 when Kate Smith was a patriotic American and the biggest star on the radio.

Smith asked Irving Berlin if he could give her a song that would reignite the spirit of American patriotism and faith.

Berlin wrote a song back in 1917, but never used it.

Smith called Mr. Berlin and told him that she couldn't take the song. So, they agreed that any money that would be made off the song would be donated to the Boy Scouts of America.

Kate Smith and Irving Berlin received millions of dollars in royalties that went all to the Scouts. (H/T Natalie Aquilia)

This clip is from the movie "This is the Army (1943)."

The original video is in 240P. We were able to upscale it to 480p without pixelated artifacts. 720 and 1080 simply didn't come out looking good at all. We have contacted Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank to get an original copy. If we get it we will be uploading an HD version.
