Tawakkul (Trusting in God)

Tawakkul is an Islamic concept that means: Trusting in God.

Our task, our obligation, is to try our best with the tools God gave us. The rest is up to Him.

By having tawakkul, we place our trust in Him. It means having faith Allah's plan is wisest. We strive yet realize He controls outcomes. This brings calmness and removes anxiety about the future.

We trust that the best timing is His timing.

We trust that we don't see all possibilities, factors, or outcomes.

We trust that our actions are just one piece in a huge puzzle.

This frees us of worry. Of stress. Of carrying burdens way bigger than ourselves.

Tawakkul means understanding our human planning can only go so far. While making effort, we accept Allah decides what ultimately happens. This brings contentment and peace in one's soul.

"And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent." (The Holy Quran)
