Opened in May 1971, the Samgori Metro Station in Tbilisi is a column-type station with two rows of rectangular columns. At the time of its opening and until November 1985, when the Varketili Station was inaugurated, it served as the southern terminus of the first metro line. In this video, we invite you to descend to this station from the Kakheti Highway side, passing through an underground passage and a long tunnel. The tunnel was once equipped with a moving walkway, which was completely dismantled in the 1990s. Nowadays, the tunnel houses market stalls, creating a bustling marketplace.
