November 26, 2023, Mark 6:30-44, "Jesus, The Divine Provider" (Live, no music)

[He provides rest.]
Mark 6:30-32, the 12 disciples returned to Jesus after their mission trips, and He gave them much needed rest.
Hebrews 4:15-16, Jesus understood the work and effort (healing people, casting out demons, raising the dead, etc.) His disciples went through, and today He knows exactly what people need, as He Himself had experienced everything (including bodily, mental, and spiritual weariness) as an ordinary human being when He came down to the Earth
Mark 6:31, Jesus sincerely wanted His disciples to get rested and recharged spiritually, mentally, and physically
Mark 6:32, the disciples were obedient to follow Jesus into the rest

[He provides truth.]
Mark 6:33, the people who ran on foot (roughly at least 8 miles), ran ahead to to other side, to the deserted place in verse 32 ahead of the ship, in eager expectation of Jesus' arrival (these heard the good news of Jesus and His works)
Mark 6:34, Jesus, being the only good shepherd who cared for the sheep, taught them the truth. He already knew that several of these people may had the appearance of being selfish by running after Him for their own needs, instead of letting Him and His disciples rest, but nonetheless, He had compassion for the people and gave the truth to them. He saw that the people were like lost sheep, and He was moved with compassion.

[He provides healing.]
Matthew 14:14, the same story in Mark 6:34, but here it said, in the same compassion and mercy where the truth was provided to the people, He also HEALED their sick. As we have seen in prior studies, everytime He performed healing works, he also healed spiritually and not just physically. All of this still glorified God.

[He provides common grace.]
Mark 6:35-36, near the evening, collectively the disciples approached Jesus to recommend onto Him: let the people depart to go find something to eat
Mark 6:37, Jesus simply responded: the disciples should give the people something to eat. A few hours ago, Jesus told them all they had done in His name on their mission trips, reminding them of the authority and power He already gave them to do His will.
Mark 6:37, the disciples questioned Him therefore, and the disciples added yet another recommendation of their own: to go and buy some food using a certain sum of money
Mark 6:38, Jesus questioned them therefore, how much food the disciples already had at their immediate disposal; this was also a check on the inventory the disciples had accumulated. The inventory check measured up to just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes.
Mark 6:39-40, Jesus commanded the multitude to be organized into groups of hundreds and fifties, not by race or religion (He knew not everyone was yet a believer), but just simply in numerical groupings. This was common grace; today we can all eat in the same restaurant for example.
Mark 6:41, Jesus looked up to heaven and prayed, blessed the bread, and then divided the bread and passed out the fish. Scripture did not specifically mention further details (e.g. how the fish was prepared and cooked, etc.), but simply implied that whatever God provided was 100% prepared without blemish and ready to be served.
Mark 6:42, and the miracle was realized, as all were able to eat and be filled (and no one got sick)
Mark 6:43, the future of the 12 tribes of Israel foretold; there was no lack in the baskets

John 6:22-26, the following day after all these things, Jesus told the people why He fed them: to bring them to the place to where they can either decide to follow Him or not. He was not planning on simply feeding them and making them comfortable in their current state forever. His healing was to redeem people, and not leave them in the same old fallen state, which the slavery of sin had trapped them into.
