The Athens Urbanist: A Documentary Series (Official Trailer)

🥰 It’s coming! The original documentary series ‘The Athens Urbanist’ will be premiering on the Urbanist Exploring Cities channel in early 2024.

For two weeks @mariakeridu and I took a deep look into what it means to be Athenian. Many know it’s ancient history, but few know that Athens is a vibrant modern city forging its own legacy into the 21st century.

We had the pleasure of meeting with around 25 locals. Getting to know their neighborhoods, learning their personal stories, sharing a meal together with their favorite local foods, and drinking plenty of coffee or ouzo as we had deep chats about this city.

I grew up watching Anthony Bourdain and I was amazed by how he was able to genuinely take the audience on a cultural experience for an episode. My curiosity would be piqued, leaving me with an appetite not just for the food, but also to learn everything I could about that place. But Bourdain was mostly limited to 40 minutes, due to the constraints of television. I want to go deeper and linger in a place to really get a feel for it. And I want to bring you along!
