14-year-old hits patrol car, leads police on chase

Fort Myers, Fla.---- Fort Myers Police arrested a 14-year-old girl after they say she was behind the wheel of a car, reversed into a patrol car twice -- once with the officer inside -- led them on a pursuit, and crashed into a fence.  We aren't identifying the girl because of her age, but she's facing several felony charges. Police say they were called to the RaceTrac on Cleveland Avenue to investigate a suspicious car. When they got on scene, they found a 14-year-old girl behind the wheel. They say she then reversed into the patrol car twice, the second time while the officer was inside, then took off. She led police on a nearly mile-long pursuit until she crashed her car into a fence on MLK Boulevard near Hendry Street. The panel of the metal fence was destroyed.  Shyvonne Jackson was leaving work when he saw the commotion.   "A Fort Myers Police SUV with its lights on speeding toward the downtown bridge. More were coming," Jackson said.  "Someone cok have got hurt. Some kids could have gotten her. Somebody could have got their life taken away," he said.  The girl is now facing multiple charges, including ten counts of hit-and-run with property damage and six counts of aggravated battery on an officer.    "I'm surprised a 14-year-old did that. Like, she still has her whole life ahead of her," Jackson said.  Four in Your Corner stopped by her home, but no one answered the door.
