Grave Digger RC With Magnetic GoPro Mount Test Run

If you've followed my channel, you'll know I have a love/hate relationship with my GoPro. I want to love it because the footage is really good, but using it always seems to be more work than I'm willing give it. I'm picky about my shots and the GoPro slows me down while trying to get it right...then the battery dies too quickly if I'm using an LCD. One of the uses I want to get out of it is FPV of my cars driving, but I'm not willing to deal with their sticky mounts. After some searching I found this magnetic mount on eBay. It's rated 80 lbs force to remove it, but that is reduced when you put the the lexan body between the magnet and the metal that it mounts to. The mount came with a tripod adapter and screw to mount it to the magnet for only $12 shipped. Here's my quick test with it.

I want it to break away to avoid busting the tripod mount. It works great for normal driving, but I need a little more strength to hold it on when landing jumps. Need to order a rare earth magnet to put inside the body to adhere to. I'll keep testing it out. It could work like this if i use multiple angles and cut away from the FPV shot before it hits and breaks away. If nothing else, it'll be great for some shots on the ground and my trail trucks.

(Apparently in my rush to get out before I lost daylight...I didn't switch the camera to auto focus. Not sure when I would've turned it off, but it definitely wasn't adjusting.)
