GMADE Sawback / D90 Land Rover Defender Build Update 6

Getting closer to completion of the GMADE Sawback D90 build. I can honestly say that I haven't seen many of these done. The RC4WD D90 body is tricky because it requires a lot of in the back of the vehicle for the body interior to fit properly. I didn't move the motor and transmission, but I have moved the ESC, receiver and battery to accommodate the body as best I could. It did require me to open up the front floorboards to fit over the transmission and cut the rear part of the frame to fit it.

Because I wanted to waterproof the vehicle, I changed out the brushless system for a Novak 55T motor, Hobbywing Quicrun 1060 ESC, and Savox SW00231 servo that I picked up at Debbie's RC World.

Tonight I added some basic LED lights and worked on a magnet mount for the body. I am using a 2x4 joist hanger that was cut and drilled to serve as a mount point for the front hood and will be using earth magnets to attach the body to it and the rear shock towers. I need to get some new Dremel attachments to finish cutting the 2x4 joist hanger and it should be ready to hit the trail soon.

As always, thanks for stopping by and checking in on what's going on at CCxRC.
