DNR = do not resuscitate, a legal term for medical people to know whether to treat and save people suffering trauma - those who may die from their injury or illness. It means medics will not save the person's life, or give treatment to save them.

A covid inquiry in Scotland has determined that DNR's were given out, sometimes without the person's knowledge. Surgeries also actively called and persuaded some to accept a DNR.
