In this video, I'm sharing my experience trying to establish contact with the International Space Station (ISS).

The ISS can be contacted (on a good day) with a Boafeng and a rubber duck antenna. I attempt to receive it with a TYT MD UV380 with OpenGD77 software and satellite tracking and a Diamond X50 over a couple of evenings in the UK. GPredict software is just being used as a graphical representation of the ISS location as it passes overhead. I use the Android App Heavens Above get get advance notifications on my Google Calendar.

So what does it take to make contact with the ISS? Is it as easy as it seems? Watch this video to find out!
