Witcher 3: Wild Hunt To Get Mod Editor (10 Years Too Late?)

CDPR has announced that The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be getting a mod editor in 2024, a decade after it's initial release. While this is certainly good news for witcher fans, I have to wonder why they're doing this now, and what their reasoning is.
