We spoke to Kennedy historian Jim DiEugenio about how President Kennedy and Soviet Premier Khrushchev used secret diplomatic backchannels to negotiate a peaceful end to the 13- day nuclear standoff over missiles in #Cuba.

James DiEugenio wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone's new documentary film "JFK Revisited" and the accompanying book. He is the Editor-in-Chief of KennedysAndKing.com and author of four books on the assassinations of JFK, #RFK, Malcolm X, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
