The Piper At The Gates of Dawn is a chapter from Kenneth Grahame's beautiful story The Wind In The Willows. The Piper At The Gates of Dawn is a wonderful evocation of summer. The story has a strange call of paganism and the two little animal characters meet the Great God Pan, lord of the wild and the animals, and they bow down before his power.

I recorded this beautiful chapter from the lovely Wind In The Willows when I was feeling a little blue during lockdown number 1 and 2. It brought a ray of hope and sunshine into a gloomy world at that time. Though people have said this is a pagan story, for me it is just an expression of how we connect with the wonder and life of the universe through nature and animals. Not my usual horror story!
