Sigiriya Rock - An Ancient skyscraper of the modern world

The world's most famous rock skyscraper on earth. A geological wonder of the world created from mother nature. What makes Sigiriya Rock so special lies an ancient ruin seated on top of the humungous rock column. It once held the highest honor for best hanging garden of the ancient world that out ranked the lavish gardens in Babylon.

Although it is favoured as one of the most visited sites in Sri Lanka, many questions still remain unanswered. Archaeologists are still puzzled over the sophisticated hydrologic water technology that was ahead of it's time. Yet, no relevant written texts hint as to whom were the true architects of this ingenious design.
