Day Hike on the Great Western Trail - or maybe Illinois Prairie Path - Not really sure...

Memorial Day Weekend 2022, we FIBs took a practice hike on the Great Western Trail in preparation for a backpacking trip with NOW Outdoors.

It was FREAKIN HOT! You can't tell in the video, thanks to my magical editing, but my daughter was not dealing with the heat very well. Although she was fine in the sun when it was playground time.

We brought along our Decathlon Trek 100 Easy Fit backpacks and loaded them up with about 30 pounds of water (not drinkable water, unfortunately) to give ourselves a realistic workout.

I was also practicing using my iPhone 13 and Insta 360 cameras while attached to York Nordic trekking poles. The Insta 360 worked great! The iPhone was too heavy and kept unscrewing itself.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this stupid little video of a family walking in the hot sun for no reason other than to do it.
