Disability - Gov’t to increase funding for innovation to facilitate rapid technological advancement
As Uganda gears for international day of persons with disability, government has been asked to increase funding for innovation to facilitate rapid technological advancement targeting to address challenges faced by persons living with disabilities.
Despite registering great strides as regards to improving the welfare of persons living with disabilities, the disability prevalence stands at 12.4% an indicator that more needs to be done to ensure no one is left behind.
This call was made by the state minister in-charge of disability affairs Helen Asamo as she addressed journalists ahead of the international day for persons living with disabilities at the Uganda Media Center in Kampala.
The day slated for December 3rd will be marked under the nation theme; the role of innovation in disability inclusion.
