Joseph's Prosperity (The Contrarian)

Unintentionally, Joseph gave to us God's template for prosperity, being something that Vanderbilt and Rockefeller had unknowingly mastered by having become contrarians to the world around them.

Just like Joseph saved every grain he could during the seven years of plenty, so too did Vanderbilt and Rockefeller both save every penny they could whenever the economy was strong.

Then, just like how Joseph enriched both himself and Egypt by selling grain for gold during the seven years of famine, so too did Vanderbilt and Rockefeller each spend large sums of money during recessions and depressions to buy assets from those who were either struggling or bankrupt, as well as to expand their businesses during those downtimes when goods and services were cheaper.

Being a strategy that had empowered each of them to create two of the largest personal fortunes in human history.

Unfortunately, few of us are like that today, as we prefer to spend whatever disposable income we have while the economy is good, only to save and starve during our recessions and depressions.

Without question, there is much to be learned from the contrarian lifestyle.
