Here's a little more info:
The cedar wood is crafted from the highest grade Peruvian Cedrela Odorata, commonly known as authentic Spanish cedar. The cost of these three drawers is exceptionally high because we have not compromised by using cheaper alternatives from regions like Canada. Many products available on Amazon and in offline stores use inexpensive 'Canadian cedar.'
In terms of aroma, Canadian cedar has a piney scent, but lacks the distinctive 'camphor' and 'Chinese toon' aroma of Spanish cedar. Spanish cedar is richer and more fragrant compared to Canadian cedar, enhancing the flavors of cigars. The woody fragrance of Spanish cedar is a characteristic feature found in many classic Cuban cigar profiles.
Regarding color, Spanish cedar tends to have a slightly reddish hue with uniform patterns, while Canadian cedar appears more grayish-white with larger grain patterns and greater color variation. Some lower-grade versions even have knots.
For humidity stability, which is crucial for cigar storage, Spanish cedar is superior. Its surface features numerous wood fiber conduits and pores, facilitating the retention and absorption of moisture, regulating excess humidity within the cabinet and maintaining stable humidity levels in the cigar cabinet.
In terms of humidification, breathability, pest resistance, mold prevention, aroma, and aging, Peruvian Cedrela Odorata (Spanish cedar) is the optimal choice.
