Looks Like Jenna Ortega Got Melissa Barrera FIRED from SCREAM

It was announced Melissa Barrera was fired from the upcoming Scream movie due to tweets she made in support of Palestine. Since then, it was announced Jenna Ortega will no longer be apart of the next Scream movie. Some are speculating Jenna Ortega left the project in solidarity with Melissa Barrera, her on screen sister.

The evidence at hand suggests the office story is more accurate. Jenna Ortega only signed on for the two Scream movies she already filmed. Since signing onto the Scream reboot/sequel her career blew up. There was reporting last summer that suggested the studio was trying to keep her onto the movie, but it may interfere with her commitment to the Netflix series Wednesday. That’s a project should had more of a personal investment in and she was given a Producer’s credit in the second season. It’s possible Melissa Barrera was fired because Jenna Ortega decided not to stay on and the studio is going to alter what they initially planned in order to try and bring back Neve Campbell and Patrick Dempsey for Scream VII.
