Defense attorneys for convicted serial killer Anthony Kirkland quit the case

ury selection was supposed to begin Thursday in the resentencing trial of convicted serial killer Anthony Kirkland, but his attorneys threw a curveball: they quit the case. Kirkland's defense attorneys said, in court, that Kirkland spoke to other defense attorneys about the case over the phone from jail. Because of that, his current attorneys said they cannot ethically continue to represent Kirkland. Judge Patrick Dinkelacker said he'll appoint new defense attorneys and Kirkland will return to court Monday.
