Storm Shield Forecast morning update 11-9-17

A cold front arrives late this afternoon, dropping our temperatures down a bit from yesterday. As a result, expect passing clouds today and a bit of a breeze, which means highs in the upper 60s and low 70s in the valley, upper 60s in the Kern River Valley and just the 50s in the south mountains. There's a slight chance of scattered showers after sunset into the overnight hours as the front sweeps through, but it's losing a lot of strength by then so I'm not expecting a good organized rain event. Winds in the mountains will be 15-30 miles per hour today so take it easy on the passes today. With that fresh air comes another day of moderate air quality, so there are no restrictions but burning is discouraged.
