In his final message to the state legislature as the American Civil war was ending, he declared that death would be preferable to reunion with the North. When he killed himself, his son Jefferson Davis Milton was a toddler. I can say for certain that this many loved the fact he could make much money off the backs of Blacks and instead of turning to Christ for forgiveness. He, like Judas, takes his own life.
