Flashback: The Citizen's Arrest & Self-defence Act (Bill C-26)

In 2012, the Minister of Justice & Attorney General of Canada, Rob Nicholson, brought forward Bill C-26 known as The Citizen's Arrest and Self-defence Act, which came into force on March 11, 2013 under the Harper administration. The legislation replaced the old Criminal Code provisions on self-defence and defence of property with new and reformed defences for Canadian citizens.Show more
