Miami rapper charged with murder, allegedly filmed gunning down manager: Report

A South Florida rapper who police say was caught on camera fatally shooting her manager in Wynwood last month has been released from jail on bond. Kevhani Camilla Hicks, who goes by the rap name Key Vhani, posted a statement on her Instagram page Monday after posting bond.

Kevhani Camilla Hicks, 27, faces second-degree murder charges for the Oct. 9 shooting in front of the Wynwood Walls, a street art museum in Miami.

Video obtained by WTVJ shows a woman police identified as Hicks gunning down the victim, then getting run over by a white sedan as she tried to flee the scene.

Video shows the rapper getting slammed to the ground before all three get up.

Hicks walks in the opposite direction before she pulls a guns out of her bag and begins firing, hitting her manager.

According to the police report, “The defendant stated she was in fear due to the victim’s size and upon hearing the victim yell, ‘I’ll kill you with one hit.’”

Hicks said she believed the victim was preparing to lunge at her when she began shooting, maintaining that she feared for her life.

She has pleaded not guilty and her public defender said it is a “clear case of self-defence.”

Hicks was initially denied bond at an October hearing, but was granted a $50,000 bond plus house arrest earlier this month.
