Hamas video shows moment elderly Israeli hostages released

Hamas released two more hostages, both Israeli women in their eighties, saying that they were doing so for “humanitarian reasons”.

Yocheved Lifshitz, 85, and Nurit Yitzhak, 80, were driven to the Rafah border crossing between Israel and Egypt, and handed to the Red Cross. They were expected to return to Israel immediately.

The release was negotiated by Egyptian and Qatari officials, though nothing was asked in exchange by Hamas, which is currently seeking to restore international goodwill after the attacks on Israel of October 7.
