STORYLINE:
The first rainfall in Gaza since the Israel-Hamas war has worsened already dire conditions for displaced Palestinians in the besieged enclave, who are now grappling with the effects of severe weather without enough food, water or medicine.

With wet winters, Palestinians in Gaza are fearful of the inconveniences the rain will bring as many find themselves living in dire conditions in overcrowded displacement shelters.

Palestinians in Gaza, already reeling from Israeli bombardment, fear that the weather in the coming season will compound their woes.

The cold front on Tuesday battered families who had fled the northern part of Gaza and taken refuge in flimsy tents in the courtyard of Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central city of Deir al-Balah.

Iqbal Abu Saud, who was displaced from Gaza City, sits under her tent on the muddied ground.

"That’s just one day, what is going to happen to us on the other days (of rain)? We don't have a place to go to," she added.

Many scrambled to wrap their tents with simple tarps to stop the heavy rain from seeping inside.
