Six American citizens were killed while serving in the Israeli Defence Forces and border police since the October 7 attack by Hamas, the US State Department said. Four of the Americans serving with the IDF died in the Gaza Strip and a fifth was killed in northern Israel, as per State Department spokesperson Matt Miller. Two premature babies at the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza died before the evacuation of 31 others, the UN’s health agency said. The WHO also said Al Shifa, Indonesian and Al Ahli hospitals have requested assistance for evacuation of patients. Israeli forces have arrested at least 40 Palestinians in the latest wave of overnight and early morning raids across the West Bank. Israeli bombardment of south Lebanon killed four civilians, two of them journalists, official media said. Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir warned against the reported hostage deal taking shape with Hamas. Negotiations to free the hostages are at their "closest point" to a deal and have reached "critical and final stage", mediator Qatar said. Watch the video to find out more.
