Having received the flight mission and the coordinates of the targets designated for destruction, the crews of the Ka-52 helicopters of the Central Military District went to the area of ​​executing fire missions. Moving at a minimum altitude, the helicopter pilots brought the vehicles to the line of opening fire and carried out a strike on the long-term stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 80-mm unguided aircraft missiles. Guidance of aircraft on targets, as well as fire adjustments for helicopter pilots, were provided by groups of forward aircraft gunners on the line of combat contact and reconnaissance drones of the Centre group.

The use of aviation weapons was carried out with a pitching technique - a flight technique characteristic of helicopters and attack aircraft, in which the nose of the combat vehicle rises above the horizon, which allows increasing the missile's flight range without entering the range of enemy air defense systems.
