Will my forging hammers benefit from baseball bat tape?

Hey all, thanks for checking out the video. Its a short and very simple one. I'm literally just adding baseball bat tape to my forging hammers to see if I can prevent some pinching I get from the handles on my index finger. Its just an idea that I had and thought maybe someone else would be having similar issues at some point.
