Christians in Israel

I'm perplexed by the relationship between Jesus and the current events in Gaza. Many civilians, including the elderly and infants, have been killed. Israel has been accused of mistreatment and many Christian Palestinian figures have reportedly been killed. Furthermore, there have been reports of mistreatment involving Ethiopian Jewish women being sterilized, which the Israeli government has acknowledged. As people of faith, how can we support this? It pains me to see that many atheists hold more humanistic views toward these events. How can these deaths be reconciled with the notion of a just God?
